My name is Marlene Lopez and I'm from Bermuda Dunes, CA. My dear friend Edna Perez, her husband and 3 beautiful girls decided to take a leap and move to Mt. Juliet, Tennessee after living in California their entire lives (about 36 years). Her husband Edgar was blessed with a great job opportunity and for the first time Edna was able to take care of her 3 girls full time. Being in a whole new area was very exciting and scary all at once, but the Perez family embraced the adventure. On September 5, 2019 Edna and her family began their new life in a whole new environment.
Only 6 months later I woke up to a text message explaining the terrible news. Last night my friend lived through a devasting tornado. I write this with tears rushing down my cheeks because it pains my heart to even try to understand what her family went through. They lost their animals, their possessions and the roof over their head. Everything they've ever worked for GONE in just moments. Currently, the Victory Baptist Church has opened their arms to my friend's family. I do not have any further information at this time, but will continue with updates. Please open your hearts and help Edna's family get back on their feet. Please help them not dwell on this life changing situation, but look forward to the good in this life.
