Percy’s Goodbye

It is with heavy hearts that we come to you today as family and friends to share the unfortunate news of Percy Guillen Zea’s passing. His unexpected illness and death has been incredibly hard on us all and we are asking for your help during this difficult time to support his children and lay Percy to rest.

Percy was a kind and loving person. He had the best sense of humor and many knew him by that spark of joy and laughter he would bring to you. In 1999, he made one of the hardest sacrifices of leaving behind his children and his home land, Peru, to provide for them and do everything he could to give them a better life. And that he did. When Percy fell ill, his kids, Jerson & Karen, were working to attain a humanitarian visa to be with their dad after almost 23 years of not seeing him. After battling to stay with us, God knew it was Percy’s time to rest and no longer suffer. His children are still trying to go through the process of attaining the visa to travel here to give him the last goodbye.

We hope and pray to raise funds to cover the costs of the funeral and expenses that will help Jerson and Karen be with their dad one last time. Any contribution you make will be deeply appreciated. We understand if you are unable to donate, but ask for your prayers instead for Jerson and Karen as they go through this challenging process of getting the visa and mourn their dad’s death.

Es con corazón dolidos que acudimos a ustedes hoy como familiares y amigos para compartir la desafortunada noticia del fallecimiento de Percy Guillén Zea. Su inesperada enfermedad y muerte ha sido increíblemente dura para todos nosotros y estamos pidiendo su ayuda durante este momento difícil para apoyar a sus hijos y darle la despedida a Percy.

Percy era una persona amable y amorosa. Tenía el mejor sentido del humor y muchos lo conocían por esa chispa de alegría y risa que te traía. En el 1999, hizo uno de los sacrificios más duros al dejar atrás a sus hijos y su tierra natal, Perú, para sacar adelante su familia y hacer todo lo posible para darles una vida mejor. Y eso mismo lo logro. Cuando Percy se enfermó, sus hijos, Jerson y Karen, estaban tramitando para obtener una visa humanitaria para estar con su padre después de casi 23 años sin verlo. Después de luchar para quedarse con nosotros, Dios sabía que era hora de que Percy descansara y no sufriera más. Sus hijos aún están tratando de procesar y obtener la visa para viajar aquí para darle el último adiós.

Esperamos y rezamos a Dios para recaudar fondos que van a cubrir los costos del funeral y los gastos que ayudarán a Jerson y Karen a estar con su padre por última vez. Cualquier contribución que hagas será profundamente agradecida. Nosotros entendemos si que no pueda donar, pero le pedimos sus oraciones por Jerson y Karen mientras pasan por este difícil proceso de obtener la visa y por el gran dolor que están pasando al perder a su papá.
