Percy’s Cancer Journey

Hello everyone!

This is for our sweet Percy.

Percy is 6 1/2 and loves Lamb Chop toys, his mama, all food, and his family. He was recently diagnosed with primary pulmonary neoplasia (primary lung cancer) and (paraneoplastic) hypertrophic osteopathy (bone growth in his legs, from the lung cancer).

Percy had a visit with his primary vet on July 2nd where they found tumors in his lungs and painful bone growth in both front legs, all stemming from the lung cancer. He had a visit with his oncology team at UT on July 8th, where we got some very sad news. Percy cannot be cured. Surgery and chemo unfortunately are not an option for him, as all the cancer would not be able to be removed due to the size of the tumors and how many there are in his lungs. His doctor said he was very brave for his appointment despite his diagnosis.

We have been given the option to do an IV infusion of zoledronate for his bone pain. Treatment will be between 400-500 dollars a month. This is just to keep him comfortable as the disease progresses. He is currently on quite a few medications to help keep him comfortable since our only option is palliative care.

Any funds we get from this GoFund Me will go directly to his medication and IV infusions to help him live out the next few months happy and in as little pain as possible ❤️ if he is to decline soon, any funds would then go directly to his end of life care- such as his humane euthanasia and cremation.
