PEPTOC is a project by artists Jessica Martin and Asherah Weiss, and the wonderful students at West Side Elementary in Healdsburg, California. This project includes a public art poster project as well as a hotline that Martin created, featuring pre-recorded life advice and words of encouragement by the students, aged 5-12. Within days of going live, the hotline went viral, receiving 60,000 calls an hour from all over the world. A year later, we still get surges of up to 2.4 million calls a day, with over 11 million calls total since March 2022.
We are absolutely astounded and so very moved by the outpouring of calls, and we are so proud that these kids are providing so much joy and light in a very difficult time in the world.
West Side is a small rural public school with an extremely limited budget. Thanks to donations and some sponsorship, we have been able to cover the hotline fees to keep the hotline going. On days that we get a surge of millions of calls, the hotline fees can exceed $20,000 a day! However, thanks to your donations, we know we will be able to keep Peptoc available to ALL, 24 hours a day, for many years to come.
Please consider making a donation or becoming a sponsor. Any excess funding we receive will go toward our enrichment programs, which are in desperate need of support. All donations are tax-deductible.
On behalf of the students, families, and staff at West Side Elementary, we thank you for your support!
