"Subversive, fun, a bracingly original comic voice." - Nitzan Mager, Quarantine I Love You

"Kristina and Miranda are incredible separately...and together? BEYOND. They are THE next comedy duo to watch, and this series will be THE next comedy series to binge-watch." - Lynn Harris, founder of GOLD Comedy

Why are we raising money?
We are raising money to fund the production and post-production of my debut comedy web series, Pepper and Mickey. All donations will go towards paying our hard-working, scrappy crew, feeding everybody on set, renting equipment and filming insurance to shoot on location, and a thrifty wardrobe.

Why this script?
It was the first month of my freshman year of college, and I had just been denied entry to a frat party I’d already pre-gamed for. I’d arrived with an Uber full of girls I didn’t know, in a city I’d visited once before committing to live in for four years. So I’m drunk and desperate to maintain my dignity, smoking a cigarette on the sidewalk while I figure out the next move when I lose my balance and bump into a random girl. My cigarette burns her arm. I apologize as profusely as you can, two water bottles of vodka deep. She returns to her conversation, and I immediately trip and do it again. My victim is gracious — we go our separate ways.

Months later, I’m sitting in a dorm room, listening to a new friend (who I’m desperate to impress) complain about the time a dumb drunk girl burnt her twice with a cigarette. It turns out my victim was Paula, and our serendipitous, violent meet-cute set the tone for a serendipitous, violent script and a harmonious writing partnership.

Paula and I started Pepper and Mickey during quarantine while she was living in LA and I was living with my parents in New York post-grad. There was no real plan for the script; we just missed writing together. It started as a short about all the bizarre, cosmic things that create and sustain a female friendship, the most relatable, of course: trauma bonding after murdering your ex. We wanted to satirize ourselves and our terrible taste in men at the time by creating a world where being a fuckboy not only warrants vigilante justice, but makes you so irrelevant that your murder isn’t even the emotional apex of the story.

We finished the script in the cold depths of the pre-vax winter of 2020. At night we’d huddle around our laptops and pitch one-liners until they stuck, obsessing over dialogue and planting dumb jokes in the action lines for each other to find.

The result is a dark, chaotic, fiercely funny ode to our friendship that I would love to share with you all!
