Hello this is Mercedes, I’m the very proud mom of Pepita. For 16 years she has been my dearest love and greatest purest happiness. No words can describe how much she means to me. I know many of you have shared moments of goodness with her. Pepita has been sick for a few days now. I took her to the vet and they prescribed me antibiotics. But today she has been throwing up and fainting and has a lump in her stomach. I called the vet and I was told from all her symptoms they think it’s congestive heart failure and she needs to go to the ER to be stabilized and see a cardiologist. The estimate over the phone was about $1500 not including treatment, which they said can cost just as much if not more. I can’t explain how hopeless I felt because I’m just a cook. I can’t afford that much. So with no other option I thought I would try to reach out to the world and those I, and Pepita might have touched along the way. Normally, I would never dream of expecting other’s to carry the financial burden of my life. I love this dog with all my heart and I know I can’t have her with me forever but if I can help her be more comfortable in her passing I am not beneath asking for help. So please whatever you can spare I would be eternally grateful. I just need to believe that if people can manage to get cosmetic surgery through donations then Pepita can get medical relief.
