Pepe Was Attacked By A Bear... Please Help!

Hi, My name is Maya, and my beloved pup Pepe was recently attacked by a bear near downtown Asheville. If you know Me, then you know how bonded Pepe and I are. It's been the two of us since I picked him up off the streets in mexico over 5 years ago when he was all but skin and bone, and now look at us! Fighting bears together! Being the amazing little fighter that he is, he survived, but he did not come out unscathed...The bear swatted him HARD and flung his body into a rock wall where he broke two ribs, one of which punctured his lungs. The bear's claws went so deep into his abdomen that they reached his kidneys, causing internal bleeding with a high risk of infection as well as severely damaging his abdominal wall and compromising his spine. The very very awesome team at Upstate Veterinary Hospital (shout out to Dr. Christ and his team!) were able to patch him back together. Sweet Pepe is home now with two drains pulling out fluid from his wounds. While I am so happy he is home, he is by no means out of the woods yet and will need close monitoring and isolation for up to six weeks. While I have a great community of friends and family that are going to help us, he requires constant monitoring AND is not allowed to be around other animals or children, making it hard to find alternative care options other than myself, and because of that I will be forced to take time out from work. It is a freakin miracle that he is alive, and every day that goes by is increasing his chance to get through this intact, but we're going to need some help...

Now for the reason we're here... all of this craziness cost me approximately $10,000....I used every cent of my savings and borrowed the rest to pay for this, and honestly I don't regret it for a second because it means Pepe is alive! If you know him you know what pure joy this little man is! However, I am now left in a very vulnerable position financially, specifically because I will have to miss work, and we aren't even sure that this will be the last of his medical expenses. I feel very uncomfortable asking for help, but enough friends urged me to do so that I finally agreed it would be a good idea. I know many of you love Pepe, and If you feel like you can donate it would help us SO very incredibly much.
