We need your help as our beloved mother, Peou Sam, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in August 2015. Our mother escaped during the Khmer Rouge and migrated to the United States so she could provide a better life for her family. In 2003, our father passed away and our mother devoted herself to raising seven childrens all by herself. It was not easy but she wanted to make sure our lives were better than the life she had in Cambodia. As part of her legacy, she taught us and her loved ones to remember that "there is no evil in anyone but only the lack of knowledge." This philosophy served us well. Our mother is a compassionate and loving person who enjoys helping others. A tough fighter, she has been fighting this battle with cancer for some time. Unfortunately, her oncologist informed us that the chemotherapy is no longer working and she may have only a short-lived time remaining with us. She is on hospice care. We are all spending as much time with her and making her as comfortable as possible. We need to raise funds to help with her funeral expenses.
