The People of the World v Simon Peterson - Dodge Thesis Film

Donation protected
BRIEF SYNOPSIS:
Fifty years ago, a young scientist, SIMON PETERSON, developed a way to preserve human consciousness in a digital afterlife, inserting the caveat that each dying person must sit on a trial to determine whether they are uploaded to an artificial heaven or artificial hell. Now, in a time where public opposition to ‘The Trial’ is at an all-time high, Simon is struck with a terminal cancer diagnosis and must make the case to the jury to be sent to the artificial heaven he created.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
We are a passionate team of seniors from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film & Media Arts, dedicating our thesis to bringing this thought-provoking story to life.

The People of the World v. Simon Peterson is more than just a film—it’s a deeply reflective exploration of morality, technology, and the human spirit. This thesis film is the culmination of our years of study at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film & Media Arts, where we’ve honed our craft and pushed the boundaries of storytelling.
As seniors, we’ve poured our hearts and souls into this project, determined to create a film that not only entertains but also sparks conversation. Our team is a diverse group of filmmakers, each bringing unique perspectives and skills to the table. We’ve spent countless hours refining the script, scouting locations, and designing every detail to ensure this film is as visually stunning as it is thought-provoking.
