Running the Gold Coast Marathon

My granny Ann unfortunately passed away on the 24th of September. She was a big part of my life with my sister and I her only grandkids. She was a huge influence in our lives.

Im running my first marathon in her honour, on the Gold Coast of Australia on our honeymoon. It is fitting that Im honouring her in this way as Granny loved to travel and unfortunately didnt make it to our wedding.

I'm raising much needed funds for the Friends of Wexford General Hospital. Granny was in Wexford General Hospital and the palliative care team there were truly amazing in looking after her and the family. From all the care they gave granny and making her comfortable to making tea and toast at 3am for us to getting pillows and blankets for my grandad to have a sleep. I honestly can't thank them enough.

I want to give back to the hospital and the teams who helped granny. Unfortunately it wasnt granny's first time in there and throughout all the stays and visits they were great. Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much.

More information about Friends of Wexford General Hospital: Friends of Wexford General Hospital is a registered Charity, initially formed to harness the efforts of people in the community to raise funds for a much needed Oncology Day Unit at Wexford General Hospital. A call went out to the people of Co Wexford to raise funds to build a new unit giving cancer patients Dignity, Privacy and Comfort whilst undergoing treatment. ALL monies raised for Friends of Wexford General Hospital go directly to the charity.
