We are Pocatello's first professional, found space theatre!

People of Pocatello Theatre aims to present originals and classics in found spaces around Eastern Idaho - predominantly Pocatello. We strive to uplift new voices and breathe new life into the past. Our company strives to improve our theatre community by:

1. Bringing theatre to the people - While we have a strong community here, many people still don't know about the great theater we have around town. By doing theatre in non-traditional spaces, we want to be somebody's first steppingstone into seeing live performance around town.

2. Paying artists - Let's face it! People are moving out here, and they aren't going to stop. In major cities around the US, it is common practice to have both community theatres, along with professional theaters. We want to begin the trend of paying the artists we have who put their time, sweat, and energy into their craft.

3. Promoting original work - Yes, we will explore Shakespeare, Chekhov, or maybe some Shaw down the road, but we are specializing in producing NEW WORK! This is something else we feel isn't seen enough around town. We want to champion people like YOU, who have great ideas and put those ideas to paper for our actors!

The proposed $5000 would be spent as follows:

Artist Stipend - $3000 (This would allow us to pay 30 artists each $100 for the run of the show. While this isn't life-changing money by any means, this amount will help get that ball rolling for our local creators.)

Show 1 - $500 (March)

Popping Up Theatre Festival - $500 (June)

Show 2 - $500 (August)

Show 3 - $500 (November)
