Hello Everyone. I never in a million years wanted to be writing this, but unfortunately this is my reality now. A few months ago, we noticed a red spot on Penny’s skin. As time went on, the spot grew and she became noticeably fixated on cleaning it. We took her to the vet who began treating her for a skin/bacterial infection. Over the course of the last few months, we have had countless vet visits, gone through a range of antibiotics and skin cultures, and more to try and figure out why the infection wasn’t clearing up. It wasn’t until a recent sedation that the doctor was able to feel a mass on Penny, one that we quickly agreed to do a biopsy on. We have just received the life-altering news that our sweet (8 years old….) Penny has stage four mammary cancer, and it has already spread to her lungs. We are in the process of trying to schedule consultations with a surgical center, but with how aggressive her cancer is, it’s likely she will not be a candidate for surgery or chemo. I am making this gofundme because even with help from insurance, I have spent thousands of dollars and will likely spend more before Penny’s time on this earth comes to an end.
