The Pennyrile Children's Advocacy Center provides a vital service to the Pennyrile region. Services are offered to nine counties including: Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Livingston, Lyon, Trigg, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, and Todd. We offer services to children who have victimized by child sexual abuse or severe physical abuse. Services may include Forensic Interviews, Specialized Child Medical Examinations, Advocacy Services as well as Therapy. In the past two years, nearly 600 children have utilized the services that are offered at our center.
Unfortunately, our building and video equipment has suffered an extensive amount of damage due to a December rain storm. This unbudgeted misfortune has been difficult for a PCAC, a small nonprofit agency. In an effort to raise money for this cause, we are reaching out to our community for support. Each service offered at PCAC is free of charge to the victims we support. We are focused on the important transition of our clients from victim to survivor. Without the essential services provided at our center, clients could be at-risk to be further victimized and prolonged emotional difficulties.
Damages sustained from inclement weather include: structural damage to the interior, wet insulation, damage to wiring which has affected the video equipment used to record children’s interviews, a laptop and furniture. We need the support of the community, friends, and those passionate about the service we provide. Any amount of money donated will go toward the repair of the building and replacement of the interview equipment. Our immediate goal of $10,040 will assist us in getting the center back up and running to serve those victims in the Pennyrile region. In the event we exceed our initial goal, donations will be utilized to offset the cost of a new server which was also affected by the rain damage and will need to be replaced in the near future. We would like to afford the opportunity to move our server offsite to prevent the possibility of files ever being destroyed on site. We believe that every child is our priority, they are one of the most vulnerable populations. One victim is too may. Please help us help the children.
