Hello, my name is Kristine. This GoFund Me page is for my parents, Penny and Vincent Feher for their medical expenses right now. My mother, Penny, as many of you may know was born with a complex congenital heart defect. She is one of those rare cases where there aren’t many out there with a condition like hers. She’s undergone multiple surgeries and procedures including but not limited to open heart surgery, bypass, valve replacement, pacemaker placement, etc.

On October 22, 2020 we went to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville for pulmonary valve replacement and while the valve works very well it caused a lot of complications because her mitral valve isn’t working as it should. So what turned into only a nights stay ended up being about a month. Unfortunately after about a month of stay following this surgery she came home not the way we arrived there. She was now using a walker and on 24-hr oxygen and was very, very weak and needed around the clock care. She also had to have her feet/legs wrapped for water retention. On November 29, 2020 she had an uncontrollable nosebleed with clots also presenting in her throat. From there we called 911 and presented to Advent in Altamonte. They placed a Rapid Rhino device in her nose to control the bleed as other methods were not working. On December 3rd her oxygenation dropped and they had to intubate her as another device was already in her nose and they were not sure if the bleed had truly stopped or not. Altamonte Hospital decided to transfer her via helicopter to FL Hospital South due to cardiologists there. Then the decision was made that she needed to be transferred to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, which is where the pulmonary valve replacement took place back in October of 2020. All of the physicians feel this is the best place to treat her.

Your donation will help all of these medical expenses that began on October 22nd of this year. Mayo Clinic is out of network with Penny’s insurance. The medial bills and hotel stays in Jacksonville are adding up to an exceeding amount and I wanted to do something to help them. Also, she’s had three different transfers to hospitals (ambulance and 2 by helicopter). She is currently on a ventilator for the past two weeks and still awaiting a treatment plan. I hope you can find it in your heart to help my dear parents. Whatever you choose to do donate is greatly appreciated from the bottom of our hearts to help my parents.
