Pennington FC Clubhouse Flood Appeal

Donation protected
We discovered we had a burst pipe yesterday evening 10th Jan which has caused flooding and subsequent associated major damage in the clubhouse at Pennington FC. Some of the damage is significant and left us with some big repairs to have done to get operational again as quickly as possible.

A group of us were at the clubhouse today clearing debris, mopping up, and making the area safe. We’ve managed to get the electricity back on, but we still have repairs needed — including lighting and the speaker system. The next and most immediate step is bringing in dehumidifiers to dry the building properly.

At Penny we try and help ourselves as much as possible so everything being safe to do so, we will still hold our already planned DJ night but now as part of this club fundraiser, next weekend on Saturday.

We have a lot to do a parts of the ceiling have failed and will need repair and making good, after the drying-out process, to protect the building. We also need to see what the longer term damage is to the carpet, doors and woodwork furniture and of course the electrics. We will try and save whatever we can if the water damage can be reversed.

This clubhouse is a key part of our club and our survival — it’s the heart beat of Jubilee Park where we welcome our visitors, and is considered home by our players, parents and volunteers on matchdays.

We take immense pride in it, but more importantly it’s a place that supports grassroots football for many participants in our community.

Right now, we need help to get it safe, dry and usable again as quickly as possible.

With your help, any donation you can make, which will be greatfully received, will help cover the costs of.
• Ceiling repair and plastering (including damaged sections and making safe)
• Replacement/reinstatement of insulation where it’s been affected
• Dehumidifier hire and running costs for as long as needed to dry the building
• Electrical safety checks and any required remedial work
• Carpet/woodwork drying and cleaning (and replacement only if it can’t be saved)
• Internal decoration to restore affected areas
• Internal doors/woodwork that have swollen/warped due to water
• Assessment/repair of equipment (including TVs if they’re found to be beyond repair)

Every donation large or small will help — and if you can’t donate, sharing this page far and wide with as many people as possible is a huge show of support.

We’ll post updates of progress via our socials, so everyone can see exactly how any funds are used.

Thank you from everyone at Pennington FC.
