On Tuesday, May 10th our beloved Penni was the victim of a freak accident at the Seattle Mariners game. A bat splintered in two and a large piece of the bat flew into the stands and struck Penni. Her forearm was broken and she was taken to Harborview for medical treatment. She is currently in a splint up to her elbow, with a cast coming next week which will keep her functionally disabled for a minimum of six weeks-- she is unable to drive, work, and conduct the tasks required for daily life.
As most of you know, Penni teaches close to sixty classes/month and this temporary inability to work has devastated her financially. With no medical or disability insurance, this is an incredibly challenging time, both physically and emotionally. We are asking for your help to cover lost income, living expenses and medical bills. Helping Penni financially to cover her costs will give her some peace of mind so she can fully heal and get back to her normal daily routine.
Penni is a foundational member of our yoga community. Her commitment and energy to teaching and to her practice are unwavering. It is with great humility that Penni has granted us, her greatest fans and loved ones, permission to ask for help in supporting her as she heals and gets back on her feet again.
Thank you for contributing a big or small amount. We know that everyone will do what they can. Penni appreciates all of your support, both financially and in spirit.
