Pennies from Heaven - Help Easter

Pennies from Heaven for Easter and Jimmy

My dear parents, Easter and Jimmy, just
celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on April 16th. Then, suddenly my selfless
Momma, Easter, began to decline rapidly. She has been admitted at Memorial Herman
Pearland Hospital. They have diagnosed her
with Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer, unknown
origin for now but it is in her bones. They
drained 1.5 liters of water from her left lung
yesterday. She has pleural effusions on both
lungs, hips, and bones which is why she is
unable to walk. It is ravaging her muscle tone
rapidly. She is in severe pain.

My father, Jimmy, is suffering from dementia
and he is unable to comprehend his best
friend, the mother to his children, his wife of
51 years, his soul mate, isn’t coming home and when she does, she will be coming home to
depart this world for Heaven. My mother has been caring for him all these years and he is
unable to continue without her.

My sister and I have been helping our parents financially for over 25 years (Asian tradition of respect as well as necessity) and now I have to ask for help. Help for Daddy to get home aid
for now while I go back and forth from Florida and Mom is brought home for the unknown
timing of God and her funeral. For now, her
frail little body is in God’s hands.

My parents worked at their Acupuncture
Clinic for almost 37 years, Monday through
Sunday. they never missed a day even through cancer surgeries. Everything was old school
checks and credit cards were just beginning.
They didn’t know the language. They were in
their thirties with two little girls age 6 and 8
when they immigrated to the United States
from South Korea in 1980 for a better life,
more opportunities for their girls. How they
maneuvered life in America is daunting. How
they have been able to survive is astonishing. I don’t know many people that have endured
that kind of suffering so gracefully and
gratefully. My parents started the whole
Korean Community in the DFW area with a
few friends and God.

I have never witnessed work ethic on this level of excellence, continuous, even through their
cancers. We spent our days and late nights at
the Acupuncture Clinic after school and
during weekends. Daddy became a Deacon
and won more golf trophies than I can count. He hit more golf balls than he played the game due to cost. My sweet Daddy.

I saw my parents treat thousand of patients
for free and they trekked to Oklahoma
monthly to treat patients lined up at a Korean Church for healing. I worked five jobs pushing myself through TCU to help them secure a
home as they lost it to a short sell while I was
in high school. We were supporting my sister’s college and my Daddy was flying back and
forth from LA to receive his Masters in
Oriental Medicine and Herbs. He refused to
be grandfathered in without an American
Degree when the AMA decided Acupuncture would be recognized and categorized as
Alternative Medicine. That’s when he got
stomach cancer.

Then, fast forward 37 years as time changed,
checks got bounced due to my parents being
unable to ask for people’s drivers license
numbers (Asian culture states this was rude),
and they couldn’t keep up with not having to
explain old Chinese medicine to a new wave of very curious patients. In between that time,
Daddy survived Stomach Cancer in 1994, two heart attacks, an aortic aneurysm and Mom
survived Primary Liver Cancer in 2006.
My breast cancer was right in between in
2000. Then, 9/11 had me displaced for six
months. We all survived as our Testimony and Faith in God was His Will in bringing people to Christ.

My parents never asked for anything from anyone but gave it away in tithing and donations
even though they had nothing. They believe
that what comes around, goes around, so I am here asking you to help karma come back to
them ten fold.

We all believe this but rarely see it happen. I
am hoping we can show them their
unwavering commitment to saving others
counted. Help me lift my parent’s 30 year old
burden of receiving help from their daughters. I believe this will help my Mother pass without guilt, knowing Daddy will be taken care of as
they reunite again in Heaven and to see the
world for what it can be again: one race, the
human race. People helping people.

My parents have no idea what GoFundMe is
and what crowdfunding is at all. We used to
dream asking God for pennies from Heaven to rain down as we combed the streets for
change. This is my last chance to make this
dream come true. Like Mom said, “Every
Penny Counts, Never Give Up.”

Please forward this to everyone. Please help my sweet parents. I thank you in advance.

Thank you for your help. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.

May God bless everyone.
