Penn AC Men's 4x - Olympic Qualification Regatta
Tax deductible
After a very rigorous year of training in isolation during the pandemic, Penn AC's Men's 4x won the U.S. Olympic Team trials on April 15, 2021, beating out 5 other U.S. boats, including a strong 3rd-place finish from Penn AC's second entry. Both of these crews race under the Penn AC / Schuylkill Navy HPC banner, and we draw much support from the broader Schuylkill Navy community! Thank you to USRowing for use of the attached photo as well.
Here is the winning crew, coached by Sean Hall:
Charles Anderson (s)
Justin Keen (3)
Eliot Putnam (2)
Sorin Koszyk (b)
The win at U.S. Trials was a critical step to racing at the Tokyo Olympics, but this crew must now go to World Rowing's Final Olympic Qualification Regatta on May 15-17, 2021 in Lucerne, Switzerland. If they can place 1st or 2nd at that event, they will earn their right to compete for the U.S. at the Tokyo Olympics in July!
Penn AC plans to send them over to Europe early to train, and potentially race in Zagreb, Croatia at World Cup I, to best prepare for the Olympic Qualifier. Depending on the exact itinerary, we estimate this will cost $20,000+ to send the crew and coach Sean Hall. We would greatly appreciate your support for this effort, and any donation will help make an impact. All funds raised will go directly to this European trip and are tax-deductible as Penn AC is a 501c3 organization.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to all of us at Penn AC and the Schuylkill Navy HPC!
