Penix's Campaign (Rose Buckner)
Donation protected
On the afternoon of July 31st, my dear sister lost her husband, best friend and protector in a tragic motorcyle accident. In that terrible instant, five young children also lost their father.
Douglas Penix (44) leaves behind a beautiful family whose lives have been forever changed by this devastating loss.
Doug's wife, and my sister, Rose (37), along with their children Thomas (15), Rowan (11), Emma (7), and twins Myles and Ellie (5), are now faced with a heartbreaking hardship as they try to pick up the pieces and find their way forward without their primary provider.
Doug was a kind, hardworking man who loved big. Ever since I've known Doug, he worked hard to provide for his growing family, and yet he still found time to help others in need.
Those who knew Doug also know well his passion for creating music. He would often play his guitar and sing at family events.
He recenlty told my mother he'd just recorded "the best music of his life" during a camping trip with family and friends.
Here's to forever creating music Doug!
I write as the loss of a great father, son, brother, uncle, husband and friend still seems like a bad nightmare. We all wish we could just shake ourselves awake and it wouldn't be real.
Rose is now faced with recovering from the loss of the family's primary source of income.
She and the kids are safe and staying with family, but they have a long road ahead. Please help them endure.
The kids are on summer break, and luckily, we have several family members nearby who are helping to get them to and from the events Doug and Rose planned for them this year.
We're hoping this campaign will provide her help with the immediate financial burden that comes with such a big loss, and also provide a bit of a cushion to help with expenses over the next several months.
Any financial assistance is welcome and so very appreciated. Thank you for your support!
