Penelope’s Spine Surgery

Hi my name is Nicola and I am raising funds for my 4 year old sausage dog Penelope’s spinal surgery.

Sadly on 15/12/24 my dog became immobile and lost the use of her back legs, she was taken to emergency vet where she was assessed with a spinal injury of 2 slipped discs. The vet advised that surgery would need to be performed but she might only have a 50-60% chance of ever walking again or my only other option was to put her down. Obviously I have chosen to try save my beloved puppy because she is a special part of my life and I couldn’t imagine life without her.

Unfortunately I don’t have pet insurance therefore the outlay of the cost of this surgery upfront has been $4000 for the orthopaedic surgeon assessment and then another $6000 for the surgery to be performed.

This is a huge amount of financial stress that has been put on me and my family so suddenly and unexpectedly.
