While working in education, I often noticed that some students arrived at school without pencils. I remember passing out pencils and asking family members and friends to donate supplies for the children who needed them. One day, I read a poem about a child who probably had a difficult day because he was reprimanded for not having a pencil. That poem stuck with me, and as I organized and cleaned up after children in my home, I realized just how many extra pencils were lying around. That’s when I had the idea to start a GoFundMe to deliver pencils to teachers and schools that need them most.

With your support, I will collect funds, purchase pencils, and ship them to teachers and schools at the beginning of the school year, in November, and in April. I’ll also send supplies upon request from teachers, administrators, counselors, or school district leaders. Every donation will help ensure that students have the basic tools they need to learn and thrive in the classroom.

Everyday families are met with challenges of life. While having pencils to use may seem insignificant, having appropriate school supplies can make a huge difference in the trajectory of a child's life. When a child is available to learn, they have infinite possibilities to become a productive member of society as an artist, musician, medical doctor, nurse, anthropologist, chemist, engineer, or even an elected politician.
