HI - It's me Steve again and I am following up on the success we had in getting 5 trees planted in Penberth Road SE6 last year. Thank you so much to all those kind people who gave a donation to make that possible. We have now reached the full funds for a further 2 trees. That means I will CLOSE the Gofundme to ensure no extra money is donated which would only sit in the account for a year. Thank you very much to everbody that contributed. I am very grateful but I'm sure every resident in the street is also grateful.The trees already planted will soon be coming into leaf and I'm sure they will brighten up the road and make it even nicer than it is now. A further 2 trees will add to that niceness and in summer provide a more friendly nature vista to the road. Environmentally a plus. As you are aware the scheme is run through the charity Street Trees for Living so donations put on the Gofundme get transferred to them. The cost of each tree is £395 the same as last year and this of course covers future care and pruning etc. Let's hope the council give permission for 2 sites. The amount raised last year was £1975 so this years contributions are the difference when this figure is subtracted.

The charity Street Trees for Living are now aware that sufficient funds have been contributed for 2 trees so fingers crossed.

Street Trees for Living raise money to plant street trees. They find and support 'tree guardians' to water the young trees. Their charitable object is to promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment for the public benefit.
