I swore I would never set up one of these pages...
Thing is, I always said, if someone close to me needed funds raised for support in the event of illness or incapacitation, I would take it on, organise a fun, memorable night and invite that person and all their friends and family - have live music, trivia, silent auction etc...
Reality?... 
That person is my Mum, Penny.
Who just turned 60 and up until 6 weeks ago, was so full of life and fun and joy.
Mum.
Who was so bloody carefree and young at heart and spontaneous (frustratingly sometimes, to her children who can take things all a little too seriously!)
All of that has been robbed from her, from us, her children, her 6 "Grandies" as she calls her Grandchildren, her Husband, her friends and extended family, in what feels like a horrible nightmare that we can't escape from. 
She went into hospital early December and after countless tests, including a botched biopsy of her Liver that has caused numerous complications, including internal bleeding, a serious infection and excruciating pain that had her in ICU last week - we were given the devastating news that she has Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer that has spread to the Liver.
Incurable. Inoperable.  
They are trying Chemo in the hope of slowing the spread of the cancer, but as a result of the ongoing infection due to the Biopsy, she has had to stop treatment, we are hoping to resume again, but time will tell.
We have been told to try to enjoy what time we have left, because the end of her life will most likely be imminent and all we have control over is trying to keep her as comfortable and stress free as possible in the final chapter of her life. 
She can't walk, she can barely smile or laugh, or eat, or drink... 
Unless her deteriorating health dramatically improves in the near future, she will be too unwell to attend any fundraising event and frankly, those close to her need to direct our energy and time towards more pressing matters. 
Peter, Mum's Husband is not working at the moment, as he has to care for her 24/7 and although they are quietly trying to manage as best they can, financial stress is severely impacting on their time together and causing Mum to worry and in her fragile state, it is really awful to see her spending her precious time and energy still trying to deal with debtors and keep the wolves from their door... 
This is where some of you can come in.
I don't expect everyone to contribute, please don't feel like I am pressuring or guilting you, I don't want to and you don't have to.
This is just an opportunity for people to give a little bit if they can spare it and they want to. No amount is too small and it will all go towards helping Mum, who always gave so much to so many, to just have a little bit more security and quality of life, with one less thing to worry about, so she can focus on the important stuff.
She deserves that and so much more.
