During the month of November, John began feeling very sick and continued to get worse. On Dec. 6th his wife, my sister Denene, brought him to the hospital and we soon learned that he was internally bleeding and had a meld score of 13. He has been on a liver transplant list for 4 years. Tuesday Dec 7th he had surgery and they were able to stop the bleeding (thank you Jesus)! By Friday he had a meld score of 27 and was transferred to UMass in Worcester where his transplant doctors are located. On Monday the 13th he had a meld score of 34. His Kidneys began to shut down and they had to do two rounds of dialysis. By Tuesday, his meld score was a 39 and what we didn't realize was that he had been in liver failure since November. At this point we've had hundreds and hundreds of people praying all across the United States. On the morning of December 16th, Denene and their girls got a call stating that the doctors had found a good liver for John. He was in surgery for 10 hours. The doctor told Denene that without this liver he would have only had about 3 months to live...BUT GOD! The doctors were extremely pleased with how well the surgery went. He has had a few set backs & had another surgery & an infection they are currently treating.
With all of that being said, John will have an extensive recovery period & a lot of medical expenses. The surgery between $350,000-$500,000. He does have insurance but high co-pays.
We are raising funds to offset these costs and help lift the financial burden while John makes a full recovery.

Thank you in advance for blessing this family!
