Dr Albert Timpo Memorial Peki Children's Ward Fund

Dr. Albert Timpo, late husband of Dr. Emelia Timpo and father of Awoye, Emefa and Edem Timpo, was born in the village Peki Dzake, Ghana, in 1941. He went on to have a long career as a Pediatrician, treating children both in the US and at a refugee camp in the southern African nation of Namibia; and advocating for children through his work with the US Agency for International Development and with the World Health Organization.

Upon his passing in April 2021, his family is coordinating a memorial fund to renovate the Pediatrics Ward of the Peki Government Hospital in Dr. Timpo's hometown of Peki as part of the one-year anniversary.

Peki Government Hospital, as the only hospital serving the people of South Dayi District and parts of Eastern Region, is making efforts to deliver quality service to their cherished clients who are admitted to the Pediatrics Ward of the Hospital.

The Pediatrics Ward cares for patients with both medical and surgical conditions. Patients are aged from 0 to 12 years old. The facility has an 8-bed capacity, 14 cots, and 2 resuscitation cots. The ward strives to become a center of excellence of pediatric healthcare.

The ward is currently in a state of disrepair and has not had any renovations for 10 years.

The Pediatrics Ward is in dire need of the following items:
- Painting of the outside and inside of the structure
- Changing the mosquito nettings and replacement of windows
- Changing of plumbing items in the bathrooms
- Tiling of the floor
- Acquisition of medical equipment and supplies, furnishings and toys

All donations will go directly toward these items for the Pediatrics Ward.
