Mandy and Ben Pehrson and their two youngest children had just returned to Papua New Guinea in June after a year in the States. In the early hours of Saturday morning they were awakened to a fire in their home, and while all of them were able to get out unharmed their home burned down and they lost everything. Both cars were in their garage and are destroyed, some things weren’t or won’t be covered by insurance (they’ve been told “not to get their hopes up”), and they have an urgent need for an oven in their current space.
