Stroke at 44 years old
Donation protected
On tuesday December 22, 2015, three days before Christmas, my son-in-law, Anthony DeLong had a stroke.
None of his doctors can figure out why. He didn't smoke, didn't have high cholesterol, not overweight, sedentary, nothing. He and my daughter, Cindy, have their own private little farm, with chickens, a rabbit, and 2 dogs. They raise a garden for most of their vegetables and eat pretty healthy.
Anthony is a union pipefitter and works for an HVAC service company.
They have 3 children. A set of twin girls, Jenny & Rachel, and a son Mikey who has sensory integration disorder.
When this tragedy struck, they had no savings accumulated and now Anthony can't work.
He cannot talk, so he cannot tell you what he wants or how he feels. Cindy stays by his bedside to try to help with his care. He has a long road ahead to hopefully get back the use of his legs, left arm and speech.
He will need an occupational therapist, a speech therapist, a physical therapist and so on.
They will need to pay out-of-pocket for everything his insurance won't cover, and we all know that will be plenty and could possibly put them in financial ruin.
It will be hard for Cindy to get back into employment, since she was a stay-at-home mom and hasn't been employed for several years.
All money raised will be used to pay medical bills and living expenses until Anthony can hopefully get back to work.
Any help is appreciated and i thank you in advance for your help.
