Help Peggy Sue Beat Cancer
Donation protected
On Thursday, Dec. 15th 2016, we received the heartbreaking news that Peggy Sue has Lymphoma (an inoperable cancer that attacks the entire body). We have seen an Oncology specialist and were told our only treatment option is Chemotherapy. Since we did not know what else to do and did not want to wait on doing something for our baby girl, we Reluctantly made the decision to start her on the Chemo, despite all the horror storys, we all hear about, surrounding Chemo treatments and their known side effects. Peggy Sue is our beautiful White and Brindle, 65lbs, Pitbull. Luckily, we have insurance for Peggy Sue; however, the Chemo regimen prescribed is a 19 week, $11K - $12K nightmare that insurance will not completely cover. If we decide to continue this course of treatment, we are looking at possibly $6k - $7k out of pocket, maybe more, hard to tell at this point. Anything raised, whether we continue with Chemo or seek other possible treatments, will go towards Peggy Sue's fight to erraticate this horrible, horrible disease and maintain her continued health.
Once we get her condition under control, see that she is improving and get the financials, of this, manageable, we promise to help as many people going through similar tough times with their babies. We are documenting our experience and continue to educate ourselves with all we can about treating an illness like this and holistic ways of keeping our babies, who depend on us so much, as healthy as possible ,for as looong as possible. For anyone asking and anyone who will listen, we will share our experience. We consider Peggy Sue to be our baby and we have always treated her as such. She is not the dog, she is not the pet, she is a family member, our girl... HELL!! we bought a minivan, just for her and yes she gets buckled up in her own seat belt. To think of her being taken by this monster disease is terrifying. We realize there are Mommys and Daddys out there that feel the same for their babies too, so how can we not pay it forward anyway we can.
Katherine (my Wife) and I have already received tremendous support and helpful advice from family and friends, new and old... yes, I mean you Justyne Moore and Judie Pursell when I say new, just to name a few... thank you so, so much. Our conversations have helped make life saving decisions and for that we will be eternally grateful. I can easily go on, but I will end here by saying thank you for taking the time to listen and
Happy Holidays in advance.
