Peggy's fight against breast cancer
Donation protected
My name is Sammi Jo and my mother, Peggy was diagnosed with breast cancer on March 22nd, 2016 at the young age of 51. She had a right masectomy (removal of her breast) on May 27th. She started her chemotherapy treatments at the beginning of July and has 3 more to go. She went back to work shortly after she started chemotherapy but unfortunately, the chemotherapy is kicking her butt and she's having to take more time off of work than expected. As we all know, disability only covers so much and with her being her only income she still needs to keep up with her bills and her new medical bills.
My mom is one of the strongest people I know. She has gone without so my brother and I could have the childhood every kid dreams of and has never once complained. She has continued this selflessness throughout our lives and now spoils her grand kids (6 total) with love every chance she gets. Even after her diagnoses, she lives her life to the fullest and has never stopped. I'm happy my family was able to move back home so we can continue to support her and spend time with her during this trialing time.
The plan right now is for her to finish her chemotherapy, decide whether or not to start radiation then do a complete reconstruction of both her breasts. This will take about a year so her struggle is no where near to being finished.
I'm asking for everyone to donate what they can. Even a dollar will help and is definitely appreciated. This money will be going directly towards medical bills and cost of basic living (rent, utilities, electric, etc). Please share this with your friends, family, coworkers, and whoever else would like to help a cancer fighter. If you can't donate money please keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers during her fight. I want to thank everyone who has supported my mom already, keep it up and let's hope she can one day say she's a cancer survivor!!!!
This is my momma today, August 10 receiving fluids due to dehydration. She was at work and started feeling bad so she went to her doctor's and her blood pressure and heart rate were extremely low. Still a smile of her face!
