Let's Help Out Tom

The holiday season should be a time of giving, happiness, rest and time spent enjoying your family.
Unfortunately, one of our own colleagues and friends has a lot more to worry about this holiday season than he ever should - not to mention grappling with intern year.
Due to circumstances out of his control, Tom had his license taken away and has had to figure out different ways to get to rotations and to the hospital on time. And figuring out how to get home to his wife and kids in Maryland is very difficult now.
On top of all this, and more importantly, Tom and his wife recently recieved some scary news. Tom's wife was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago. Recently, a repeat CT scan showed the possibility of a new mass/masses and the need for chemotherapy. Obviously, not the news they wanted to hear.
Tom is balancing all of this - intern year, not having a license, trying to find a way to get home to help take care of their kids while helping his wife (who isn't working right now) - all during the Christmas season.
It's hard to imagine how hard all of this is for Tom and his family. Let's help the Pefok family so they can enjoy their Christmas and not have to worry about finances on top of everything else. I've asked for Tom's permission to share a little bit of his story and he will be so thankful for whatever help we can offer; we're a family and in this together - let's help out one of our own!
All money will go directly to Tom (GoFundMe takes out a small percentage), and can be made anonymously if you choose. I would like to get this to the Pefok family on or before Christmas. Thank you all!
