Boba my 4yr old pup has been at the Peninsula Emergency Hospital since Tuesday. Walked in with 106 degree fever, pneumonia, high liver values due to potential ingestion of some sort of mushroom or poison. Additionally for some unexplained reason his white blood cell count is down, so he’s having extreme difficulty fighting off whatever is ailing him. Its been touch and go.
He doesn’t eat. You can see his ribs poking out. He could barely stand and support his weight. He looked lifeless on a few of the days I visited. I felt I was going to lose him. There is also the possibility of him being transferred to a hospital with a Internal Medicine Specialist to evaluate the issues with his liver. The financial and mental toll has me beaten. His overnight treatment, frequent blood work, X-rays, ultrasounds have averaged up to $2500 a night. I’m currently working on a loan, but that may take a while and I’ve essentially wiped my savings and am in overdraft. I am hoping for any help so that his treatment can continue without any pause.
Thank you all for your consideration
