Pedro (Peter) Segura's Medical & Living Expenses

Hi my name is Katsumi Segura, Wife of Pedro Segura. My Husband Pedro has been hospitalized since August 13th for complications due to COVID-19 and pancratitis. His health insurance is paid through his salary as an educator at Mercedes ISD, but due to his medical conditions he is not able to work which has put his health insurance at risk. Before he was transferred to the ICU (due to intubation) on August 24th, his bill was already at 250K. My husband has touched the lives of many people through 25+ years of teaching, mentoring, and a lifetime of parenting. We humbly ask for donations because we did not anticipate losing my husband's salary and it has put a hardship on my entire family. These donations will be used to cover medical expeses and other living expenses for the family. Some may not know my husband, but can see the man that he is through the children that he raised. I have never been one to ask money from anyone, in fact I have always told my children that it is always better to give than to receive, and asking for help in this time took much discussion between my children and I. We came to this decision because we were informed by the medicial team that this will a long term recovery for my husband. He is planning to get a tracheostomy and peg surgical procedure to better improve his likelihood of survivial, and his likelihood of being able to teach again (if you know him you know how important he takes his teaching job). After the surgical procedure he is also looking at extensive rehab at a rehab facility which would include long term dependecy on oxygen. Even if you are not able to donate in a monetary sense, I ask for prayers and thoughts for my Husband and my two kids and granddaughter. Thank you for your time and consideration.
