Beloved family, friend, and/ or acquaintance: My beloved father, Pedro Gomez, passed away unexpectedly last night, April 13, 2021. Tío Pete, as he was affectionately called, was a life long resident of Idaho. Tío Pete worked the potato fields for most of his life. However, illness brought that to an end and he left his place of work without a pension or life insurance. Like many Americans his age, he lived on a fixed social security income, and did not have life insurance. As you can imagine, living on a fixed income creates monetary difficulties and life insurance sadly was a luxury that we could not afford. My dad is deserving of a dignified funeral, as his wish had always been not to be cremated. He purchased a burial plot, but after speaking to the funeral director, I have been given a quote of $8,500.00 to $10,00.00. I too live on a fixed income and a loan is not feasible. I come to you today, to humbly ask for monetary assistance. All donations, no matter how small, will relieve a great burden that I have and will ensure that my dad receives a dignified memorial service. If you are unable to donate, please share this post.
