Peck Family Flood Relief
Donation protected
Please help my brother’s family recover from the flood that caused extensive damage to their Merritt home.
At 4:00am, Monday, November 15th, my brother Ryan Peck and my sister-in-law Jory Berthelet evacuated their family home to escape rising flood tides. With them were their two children Vincent (5) and Louise (1). We are incredibly grateful that they are all safe and healthy, but they will still need support in coming days to recover from this traumatic event.
Jory and Ryan recently returned to Merritt this past summer, but have been both long-time residents, particularly Ryan who grew up there.
Jory is an elementary school teacher who works locally, and Ryan works for the Municipal waterworks. At present, my brother is working 12-hour shifts to assist with the flood clean up and bring the city’s water grid back online.
I’ve been told that flood waters reached the top floor of their home, which likely means many essential processions like clothes have been lost or damaged. I hope this fund will help to relieve the burden of what costly repairs will be needed to make their house a home again. As well as they will need support to find a temporary place to live while making those repairs.
Please give what you can to help this young family of four get back on their feet. I know a lot of people need support right now, so anything you can contribute will mean so much to me.
