Pebbles recovery and aid

Donation protected
Hi all! My family and I are humbly asking for your help to raise funds for our 5 year old dog Pebbles.

This all started when we rushed Pebbles to the hospital on the 28th because she yelped out in pain and started limping out of nowhere. When at the Vet they told us it was just a pulled muscle and she should recover fast. 2 days go by and Pebbles did not get any better. Doctors did X-Rays and questioned if it was IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). Doctors referred us to a neurologist to get more scans but things quickly got worse before we could schedule an appointment.

Late Thursday night Pebbles became paralyzed from the waist down, yelping and dragging her legs behind her. Doctors confirmed that Pebbles has IVDD and found out a disc in her spine exploded, compressing on three of the vertebrae in her back. If you know anything about Pebbles, you know she is known for her high jumping skills, running around the yard for extended periods of time and being a good girl sitting in a prairie dog like stance. She is a little bubble of energy who always bring joy to those around her. Seeing her like this has been a moment of loss for us and worrisome to think about the expenses we are about to incur.

When we took Pebbles to the vet Thursday night they told us that she has a 50% chance of regaining motion in her hind legs, which means she may become a very powerful, agile wheelchair bound queen. Pebbles was rushed into surgery yesterday (6/6) afternoon to fix a very severe herniated disc in her spine. They made 2 incisions and were able to take out majority of the herniation (doctors are hoping the remains are just blood clots that will go away). Pebbles is now awake and alert with a little cone on but still has no feeling in her back legs. She is not 100 percent in the clear just yet, due to the severe herniation, there is a 10% chance of her developing something called Myelomalacia, which softens the spinal cord and causes paralyzation all over which would cause her diaphragm to stop allowing her to breath. In this case once they notice any sign of this occurring, euthanasia would be he most humane thing to do. We are keeping our spirits high as well as being hopeful this does not happen.

Because of the emergency surgery with overnight stays, X-rays and MRIS, medication and bloodwork the bill is becoming much more than we could have ever imagined. We are doing everything we can to make sure Pebbles is receiving the care she needs, but $20,000 is a massive expense for anyone. If you can help in any way possible, even just a dollar or a happy thought, prayer or love would and will be beneficial to us.

All donations will go toward Pebbles' medical expenses, as well as making the house accessible for her to roam around in.
