Pebber Brown Memorial

Hello everyone. I know I am not alone in saying that it has been difficult accepting the reality that Pebber has left us. Though we are not blood-related, I've known him since I was eight years old. My mother grew up in Claremont and played music as Pebber did. They were in the same social circles and became friends, started dating and then he came and lived with us; my mother Elizabeth, my older brother Eric, and my younger sister Lauren. Pebber had a significant influence on our family. He brought a different view on life, music, and structure into our lives that helped shape us. Though he and my mother didn't stay together, he never left our family. He was always welcome and attended family gatherings, birthday parties, performances and more recently, he had a weekly game night with my son Desmond. In the wake of COVID the most positive outcome was the extra time that we spent with him. He had dinner with us once or twice a week and frequently dropped in. We miss him dearly.
Presently my family is working with his family; mother Grace, stepfather Barry and sister Kali who live in Oregon. We haven't been able to locate a will, making it difficult to manage his estate, so I am reaching out to our community for assistance. The funds will go towards memorial costs, but we would like to create something to continue his legacy in the long term, albeit a music scholarship, keeping his website and lessons available to the public and more. We knew how talented and giving Pebber was but we didn't know the impact and support he had for his students. We are moved by all of the stories and gratitude that we've recieved; thank you all for sharing.
