Super Nurse Ro's Battle with Cancer
Donation protected
When a patient lucky enough to be placed under the care of Registered Nurse Rowena Keil calls for help, she'll soon be in the doorway, asking, "How can I help you, my love?"
When a coworker or relative is sick or troubled, Rowena takes notice. Her gentle refrain: "How can I help you, my love?"
Those aren't just words to her. They're a genuine offer to help, and a reflection of the way that this nurse, mother and wife lives her life. Rowena, a sweet Southern belle, finds joy in giving of herself to bring comfort to others.
And now she needs our help.
Rowena, 35 years old, was diagnosed with breast cancer in April. She has had to stop working indefinitely to undergo treatment. She's endured chemotherapy and a radical double mastectomy with grit and grace, but radiation and reconstruction still lie ahead.
Her insurance has run out, forcing her to depend on astronomically priced COBRA coverage to save her life and allow her heal. She will be facing returning to work while still undergoing radiation.
Her faith in God and humanity has taken her this far, but she now needs us to help her and her family pay medical bills and daily living expenses to carry her through recovery. In her dark moments, she reminds herself and all of her loved ones to "throw some light on it", and shares her beaming smile.
Please donate to give back to a woman who has always freely given more than her share of help and love to the world. Show her that, when she needs it the most, a little bit of it can come back around.
