On Friday, August 8, 2025, Mari, Paul, Anthony, and Allison were on their way to spend a fun-filled day at Darien Lake. Tragically, their plans took a devastating turn when they were involved in a fatal head-on collision on Route 33 in the town of Bergen. The other driver attempted to pass a vehicle and struck Mari’s car head-on.

Both Mari and Paul sustained severe injuries and underwent hours of surgery. Mari suffered a compound fracture to her ankle, as well as deep lacerations to both legs and her forehead. Paul sustained a fractured ankle and a broken wrist. Thankfully, Anthony and Allison were securely fastened in their car seats and only sustained minor injuries from the seatbelt straps.

While the children are physically okay, Mari and Paul face a long and difficult road to recovery. During this time, they will be unable to work, adding financial strain to an already overwhelming situation.

I’ve set up this fundraiser to support my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephew, and niece as they recover from their injuries. All funds raised will go directly toward covering their cost of living while they heal and focus on recovery. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference and is deeply appreciated by the entire family!
