Pearson Family Medical Expenses and Support

My name is Shanna Pearson. Back in September 2021, my husband Brad was injured. He was assaulted which resulted in a broken femur, destroyed iliac artery and nerve damage to his legs. He is very lucky to have survived the injuries. He spent about a month in an out of state hospital, going thru 10 hours of surgeries and staying in the ICU trying to recover. While I stayed home with our kids keeping the house going, his parents spent the entire time living out of a motel so they could be there with him. We were finally able to get Brad transferred back to the area where he continued his inpatient rehab. While Brad is learning to walk again and deal with all the rehab and Dr. visits he has, he is staying with his parents while I stay home with the kids. While this is happening, unfortunately Brad is not able to work, and I am a stay at home mom. Thankfully, Brad qualified for short term disability, but with a 40% cut in income. This has not been easy for any of us. His recovery period is unknown and there is no telling what kind of permanent troubles he will have. His parents are currently helping take care of him and take him to his appointments, and are doing the best they can to help financially, as well as my own parents trying to help with me and the kids. We have a small savings to help with our house but this can only help for so long. We don't know when Brad will be able to work again at this point, and unfortunately my schedule with the kids and other obligations are keeping me from being able to work. This took a while for us to decide to do, but any help is going to be needed and appreciated.
