Hello, I’m Pearl. As many of you that have followed my journey for years or to the new people this has the potential to reach, I was born with Cerebral Palsy. My type of CP affects my lower body and legs, and in my lifetime, I’ve had 16 surgeries. But I don’t let my disability define me or stop me. I keep a pretty active lifestyle as a powerlifter and CrossFitter.

Having CP means I have to use wheels as my main mobility device to live my independent life to the fullest.

In 2021, I was forever blessed when insurance denied me a manual wheelchair after 13 years of using the same chair. I didn’t have a wheelchair that worked, so my rad friend Aaron “Wheels” Fotheringham gave me his own wheels that he used before giving them to me. Aaron has the kindest heart out of anyone I’ve ever known. No one has ever done something like Aaron did for me in that moment, and for that, I am forever grateful for the person and friend he is to me.

For 4 years, I’ve been riding his chair that he built like no other can. It’s the best wheelchair I’ve ever had because Aaron builds one-of-a-kind chairs. I don’t trust anyone else in building exactly what I need like Aaron does.

Aaron’s chair that I currently have is on its last leg and has seen its time nearing the end of use, especially after the transportation that I use to get around, a bus system, bent the frame. Luckily, I have strong friends who fixed it for now, but it’s not gonna last much longer.

I reached out to Aaron and, of course, being the friend he is, he immediately said he would help me in building a brand new chair exactly how I want. But I am asking for any donations to help fundraise the money for the equipment and parts, being that it is costly nowadays. People like Aaron and myself depend on such equipment to accomplish rad things in our lives.
