Hi there, my names Mikayla and this is my 6 month old puppy peanut

When peanut was 5 days old she was surrendered to me on a failure to thrive basis.. she wasn’t gaining weight and wasn’t able to nurse off of her momma.

Thus began our journey to give her the best shot at life.. peanut had to be bottle fed every 2-3 hours and had regular vet check ins once - twice a week to monitor her progress. Around the age of 4 months it was discovered that peanut had a complete secondary cleft palate, this is what caused her to not be able to gain weight and nurse normally.. had I not taken her she would’ve sadly passed away.

We are now faced with a very costly surgery which wasn’t in the cards for us pre-peanut.. but this dog has brought so much love and joy to so many I cannot fathom her not being in our lives..

I am a firm believer that If you take on the responsibility to have a pet you should be prepared for the costs associated with them.. creating this gofundme is extremely hard for me to do but peanut is such a special pup she deserves every chance at a full and happy life even if that means we need help from others to make that happen..
