Peanut’s Bladder Stone Removal Surgery
Peanut is a 4 year old guinea pig who presented with a UTI several months ago. Antibiotics failed to treat his symptoms, so the Veterinarian did an X-ray and Ultrasound and identified that Peanut had a bladder full of sediment. He was referred to a specialist to get the bladder flushed on April 5th 2021.
Unfortunately, after his bladder was flushed the ultrasound showed that he has a stone that was not visible on X-ray that was sitting in the midst of all of the sludge in the bladder. The treatment for a stone is surgical removal.
The ultrasound also showed that Peanut has some changes in the kidneys that made the radiologist suspicious that he may have an infection in the kidneys called pyelonephritis.
He is currently recovering from the first procedure and needs to get stronger before he can go into surgery.
The first procedure cost $1825.49 plus an additional $ 525.71 for medication.
Peanut is a young piggy, he loves people and cuddles. He is happy just sitting in your lap. He is a sweet boy and deserves the best chance to live out a full life!
