Hi I am Joan Diaz, I do cat rescue in and around Hurstville, NSW Australia. I rescued a very emaciated and unwell cat in March 2025 who was initially treated with full dental extraction and urinary infection. He was literally at deaths door and would’ve had a painful long drawn out death if he was not rescued atleast when he did.

his conditions are:

1. FIV positive means compromised immunity

2. Full dental extraction

3. ulcerated tongue which won’t heal (probably from Calcivirus infection)

4. Terrible coat and skin condition due to Being unable to groom himself from tongue ulceration.

5. Chronic kidney disease and anemia from kidneys flushing out more blood than produced in the body.

6. Fibrosis of kidney from organ damage.

He has improved a lot in foster care however we recently confirmed he has Chronic Kidney disease and requires prescription diet which is about 40 dollars per 12 pack of wet food. His initial invoice for diagnosis was 605 dollars and we need to pay it before 23/08/2025 and his second appointment was another 445 due on 01/09/2025. He will need ongoing treatments and we are expecting ongoing vet appointments for him and the huge expense towards his prescription diet.

peanut is a very sweet cat who lived it hard on the streets for the first 6 or so years of his life, while being sick and of compromised immunity struggling to find food and being constantly malnourished adding to his health issues.
