On November 2nd, our neighbor Faith York took a bad fall in her home, resulting in a severely broken left leg. Following surgery and 17 days in the hospital and Seaside Rehab facility, Faith finally was able to return to her home Friday, November 20th.
Unfortunately, expenses to date including medical bills, installation of a temporary ramp to her home, medical equipment and alterations to the first floor of their home will exceed $15,000. beyond what insurance will cover. In addition, this means Faith will miss work, possibly for months.
Faith’s absence has been profound as she is always finding ways to bring entertainment, adventure and cheer to the whole Peaks Island community. It will be impactful on so many to have Faith sidelined . Many people have asked how they can help. This campaign is one way to assist Faith and husband Larry with these expenses and offers all of us who benefit from their community activism to give back in ways most helpful to them.
If you have attended a Peaks Fest activity, thank Faith and make a donation here.
If you have enjoyed the many concerts offered by her Peaks Island Music Association, (house concerts, summer music series, Island Musician Concert, PI Chorale Concerts), the PI Ukuleles, thank Faith by making a donation.
Have you ever experienced the amazing haunted house on
Halloween at the Lions Club? Yes, that is Faith’s creative mind at
work. Show her your appreciation with a donation.
If you or your children have benefited from music lessons, thank
Faith and donate.
And then there is the holiday concert at Brackett Church . We
have Faith to thank for that.
This is an ambitious goal and every bit helps. Now is when “many hands make light work” and every donation helps and will be so appreciated. Please give what you can and even if there are no
dollars to spare, drop her a note of encouragement.
Thank you Community!
