Peachy Steve's Emergency
Donation protected
Isha, Aram, Luce, and Jett adopted the most beautiful ginger cat together at the start of 2020. Those of you who have met Peachy Steve know he is an immensely loveable little (big) cat with a huge personality.
On Tuesday night last week, Peachy started acting strange - attempting to pee around the house and generally looking miserable and uncomfortable. We rushed him to the vet - the correct decision, as it turns out he had become blocked.
Being "blocked" effectively means a cat can't pee. If left untreated, urine can build up in the bladder until it eventually reaches the kidneys, and within hours it can be fatal. Luckily, the vets were able to drain his bladder using a catheter and kept him in the emergency vet for a number of days on different pain medications until he was able to urinate on his own.
We love this cat with our whole hearts and it was an incredibly stressful week to see him in pain and not know if he would relapse.
Unfortunately the vet bill has hit us hard. We are incredibly grateful to the emergency vets, but they were not cheap, and there was no cheaper option in that situation. The general cost of living at the moment has left us scrambling to cover this cost, particularly as this vet did not offer an instalment option or payment plan.
We absolutely understand everyone is feeling the money squeeze at the moment, so please don't put yourself out of pocket. But if you are able and willing to give to help us take care of our baby boy now and in future, we would be so grateful.
Thank you!
