After the heart-breaking loss of my 4 year old chihuahua, Girly, this time last year, I never imagined my heart would be ready again so soon. Then Peaches came into my life only weeks later and brought light, love, laughter, and healing when I needed it most!! She truly helped mend parts of me that were broken and became my soul sister. She is forever spoilt, has a bigger wardrobe than me, goes to doggy day care, and is adored by all.

Now my beautiful little 1-year-old Peaches needs heart surgery for a congenital heart condition PDA. She also currently has enlargement of the heart. The procedure will cost £5,500, and sadly my insurance company are refusing to support the claim at all, including both diagnostics and treatment. However, this operation has an excellent prognosis of her carrying on her diva lifestyle for many many years after!

I am a single dog mum working full-time as a nurse, picking up as many extra shifts as I can, and doing everything possible to fund her treatment myself. I am now facing taking out a loan and using equity in my car just to give her the chance she deserves.

Peaches is not “just a dog” and those who know me know that. She is my best friend, my comfort, my little shadow, and a huge part of my world. She is only 1 year old, full of life, and deserves the opportunity to live a long, happy future.
