Want to join me in making a difference? Magnetic Island Network for Turtles (MINT) is raising funds to help rehabilitate Peach, a beautiful, big, adult female green (chelonia mydas) sea turtle. Peach was rescued from Maud Bay by Magnetic Island Jet Skis and some of their visiting guests during their jetski tour. The guests volunteered to cut their tour short so they could save Peach and get her into care quickly. Peach was transported by our MINT team from the island to the vet team at JCUvet for tests to investigate her shell infection. She is now in care with our volunteers at the MINT rehabilitation clinic. Being such a big turtle, (approximately 100 kgs) her food costs will match, plus her ongoing medical costs. It is estimated this will be $300 - $500 per week for Princess Peach alone.
