“Peace on Wheels: Help Killing Is Wack! Launch Our Billboard

Every day in America, young lives are lost to gun violence and senseless acts — lives full of promise, dreams, and potential. At Killing Is Wack!, we believe the path forward is not silence — it’s visibility.

But we can’t just preach peace. We need to show it—in the neighborhoods, on street corners, where youth walk to school, where families gather, where hope is needed most.

That’s why we’re launching Peace on Wheels — a mobile billboard & promotion truck dedicated to amplifying the message “Killing Is Wack” in communities across the nation. We’re asking for your help to raise $150,000 so we can roll this project into life — and into neighborhoods crying out for change.

Who We Are / Our Story

Killing Is Wack! began in 2007 as a movement to support young people affected by violence, incarceration, and trauma.
Killing Is Wack

Over the years, we’ve evolved into a nonprofit committed to promoting nonviolence among children and young adults, acting as a catalyst for social change.
Idealist

Our founder, Charles “Chuck” Robb, launched this organization out of grief, hope, and conviction: to turn pain into a mission, to transform silence into voice.

We’ve built local outreach, mentorship programs, public events, and visibility campaigns—all media, artwork, live events, teaching tools. But today, we need to scale our reach in a new, mobile way.

The Vision: Billboard Truck + Mobile Promo Platform
What It Will Do

Broadcast messages of nonviolence, healing, and unity — through LED screens, audio, video, and dynamic content

Showcase youth-generated art, testimony, and storytelling that humanizes victims and uplifts survivors

Serve as a rolling stage & information hub at peace rallies, school events, block parties, and marches

Partner with local nonprofits, schools, and law enforcement to support violence-prevention programs

Offer opportunity & involvement: youth can help with content creation, branding, social media, logistics

Promote awareness campaigns across neighborhoods that need visual reminders that life matters

This isn’t just a billboard on wheels — it’s a mobile peace movement, designed to bring a message of life and love to places too often overshadowed by violence.

Why It Matters — The Rationale

In many neighborhoods, silence is the default soundtrack after tragedy.

Static signs, social media posts, and community events reach some — but not everyone, everywhere.

A mobile billboard meets people where they are — on their streets, commuting to work, sending kids to school.

It breaks the “shield” of apathy. When people see a giant message, they pause, reflect, talk.

Youth feel seen. Families know someone cares. Neighbors recognize they’re part of a movement, not just passive observers.

Visual media is powerful — it can spark questions, change beliefs, inspire action.

Your support makes this possible.

Use of Funds: Transparent & Specific

Here’s a projected budget breakdown:

Category Estimated Cost
Purchase of digital LED billboard truck $90,000

Fuel, maintenance, operational buffer $5,000
Content development & production $10,000

We commit to full transparency: all purchases, service contracts, vendor invoices, and operational costs will be published in quarterly updates to all donors.

Impact Metrics: How We’ll Measure Success

We won’t simply launch the truck and hope it helps — we’ll track concrete metrics:

Number of miles/routes driven through target neighborhoods

Number of community events covered

Impressions served (how many people saw the truck)

Youth participants engaged in creative & technical roles

Partnerships formed (schools, community orgs, city governments)

Before-and-after surveys in neighborhoods to gauge awareness uplift

Stories & testimonials from individuals impacted

We’ll share all metrics in quarterly campaign updates, with photos, video, maps, and human stories.

Stories That Ground Our Mission

“I lost my cousin last year. Nobody talked about him after. But when I saw the 'Killing Is Wack' message at a block event, I cried — because someone still remembered.”

“After doing workshops with Killing Is Wack in my school, I started telling my friends — we don’t need to fight to be heard.”

When we amplify these voices — and bring them to the street — we make pain visible, we make hope visible, and we make possibility visible.

How You Can Help — More Than Just Donating

Donate — No gift is too small.

Share — On social media, email, text — help us reach people you know.

Sponsor a Route or Message — Donors of $1,000+ can sponsor a city route or have a tribute/message displayed on the truck.

Volunteer — We need help with content, editing, filming, event logistics, local outreach.

Partner — Schools, nonprofits, businesses — co-host events or “truck visits” in your community.

Tell Your Story — Share how violence, community, or healing touched you. We’ll highlight stories on the truck, website, and campaign updates.

Why We Believe in This

Because visibility changes the conversation.
Because a message repeated in streets can become a movement in hearts.
Because youth whose voices are too rarely heard deserve a platform — a billboard for their dreams, fears, and hopes.
Because we refuse to let too many lives fade into silence.

And because you can make it real.
