Peace Love and Understanding for the Island Man

Anyone who has ever interacted with Manel the Island Man would never forget the wild and loving spirit he carries. He shares his creativity, love and passion for life with everyone he meets. He has shared his music with our communities for many, many years. Manel always serves as a source of joy in so many people's lives. There is no one with more hunger and enthusiasm for living a fulfilling life than him. No matter the season, you can always count on Manel to be funny, loving and cheerful.

As many already know, Manel has been undergoing treatment for the last 20 years at Dana Farber for Multiple Myeloma. In the Fall during a routine visit for maintenance treatment of his MML, it was discovered there were abnormalities in his lab results. Unfortunately, after further testing and scans, our world was turned upside down when he was diagnosed again, with another illness - Pancreatic Cancer. As expected, Manel was ready to take on the long journey ahead with the hope of coming out on top of his illnesses. He has already begun the grueling sessions of chemotherapy in December, with radiation and surgery in his future, hopefully, this Spring. It is no surprise, Manel has an incredible support system, but even with this, there are still many expenses incurred with not being able to work, and many trips to Boston among other stressors. Many have reached out on how to help, so we decided there would be no better place than here for all who are willing to donate.
