Peace, Love and Cupcakes begin as a hobby almost a decade ago. I simply loved to bake and wanted to do so for my family and friends. I crossed paths with a woman while waitressing at Denny’s back in 2011 who asked what my passion was. When I told her, she suggested I start a Facebook page, make up some business cards, and JUST DO IT! So that’s what I did, and eight years, hundreds of cakes, thousands of cupcakes and cookies later, here we are. (And by the way, I’m still great friends with that woman I met in Denny’s that night. Love you Moe!)
I have managed to establish quite the devoted following. Currently I have over 2100 followers on my Facebook page, and I receive anywhere from 5-10 inquiries per day regarding cake orders, many of which I have to turn down because I can only do so much out of my home.
I have been hired by local businesses to provide the cake, cupcakes and other treats for their celebrations. I have been hired for large corporate events. I have even had the honor of making the 90th birthday cake for the historic Landmark Theatre.
During the past few years, as orders increased. my husband began to help me. He is a cook by trade but had never dabbled in baking prior to helping me. I’m proud to say he can now bake cakes, cookies, and make a mean buttercream. Our dream is to have have a small storefront bakery or cafe, with enough space to take on all the orders that come our way. We would love to offer delivery through Grubhub, Door Dash, and Uber Eats as well. As a matter of fact, I recently was contacted by Grubhub to schedule an in person meeting with one of their market area managers, to discuss add us to the website.
Now that I have provided a bit of back story, allow me to get to the point of this fundraiser.
I came across an available cafe in a local office building that would be absolutely PERFECT for Peace, Love and Cupcakes. The rent is affordable, it includes the electric, and the best part is, it comes with all the equipment!
This location is available June 1st so to say we are pressed for time to come up with the funds is an understatement. We are hoping to raise $2500 to cover first months rent, security, and a few other overhead costs. We already have our DBA and liability insurance.
I truly believe this is the opportunity we have been waiting for but unfortunately we can’t do it alone. Every single donation will help, no matter how small.
